About Chad Helder
Chad and Vince with StokersChad Helder is the Stoker Award-winning editor of Unspeakable Horror: From the Shadows of the Closet (Dark Scribe Press 2008), an anthology of queer horror fiction, which he co-edited with Vince Liaguno.
Helder's first book of poetry, The Pop-Up Book of Death, will be published in early 2010 by Queer Mojo Press, an imprint of Rebel Satori.
The Vampire Bridegroom, a book of poems and tales, will be published by Dark Scribe Press. The book is named after a poem that appeared in the second issue of Icarus magazine.
Helder wrote Bartholomew of the Scissors (Bluewater 2008), a comic book miniseries that Helder based on his unfinished novel. Daniel Crosier created the art with an innovative combination of pyrography (wood burning) and mixed media.
Helder also wrote a series of horror stories for Bluewater's Vincent Price Presents (2008-2009).
In 2007, AH-HA! Productions purchased Helder's vampire poem, "The Playground," to be developed into a screenplay and film.
Helder's set of horror flash-fiction, "Five Flash Frights" (2007), appeared in The Harrow: Original Works of Fantasy and Horror.
Helder has two literary degrees: a BA in English from the University of Northern Colorado and a MA in English from Western Washington University.
