Chad Helder is a Poet, Comic Book Writer, English Teacher, and Horror Queen. He lives with his boyfriend Tshombe Brown in beautiful Bellingham, Washington. Chad has been fascinated with the horror genre since the release of Thriller when Michael Jackson turned into a werewolf and danced with the zombies, and Vincent Price performed his horror "rap."
Chad writes comic books for Blue Water Productions. He is the lead writer and script editor for Vincent Price Presents, Bluewater's first continuous monthly series, which launches in September of 2008. His original comic book miniseries, Bartholomew of the Scissors, is almost complete and will be released in four issues, also beginning in September of 2008.
Chad teaches Literature, Composition, and Creative Writing at Whatcom Community College.
Chad is the author of The Pop-Up Book of Death, his first collection of poetry. Online versions of Chad's poems can be found at chadhelder.com.
Chad has two literary degrees: a BA in English from the University of Northern Colorado and a MA in English from Western Washington University.
